May Field Trip - Casuarina Coastal Reserve & Boardwalk

Sunday May 20 7:30 am

Duration: 2 hours

Join us on a Discovery Walk along the Casuarina Coastal dunes, then enter into the magic of the mangrove board walk before continuing onto savannah woodlands and finishing the walk through coastal monsoon forest. Each of these environments holds a plethora of natural phenomena to discover and identify – the early start is the best time for observing the many species of birds and as the morning warms up dragonflies and butterflies should become active. Following the walk, all are invited to the Casuarina Surf Life Saving Club’s Café De la Plage for morning tea. Here the checklist of species discovered can be reviewed and/or discussed.

Where to Meet: Free Beach Carpark at the end of Daribah Road, via Brinkin (down the road past the Casuarina SLSC).

Please bring: Binoculars, camera, hat, water-bottle, wear covered shoes, a chair (in case all are taken at the Café).

Field Nats walks are free and open to members of the public.
